Bobbie’s Deutsches Bier
Ingredients
1 x Mangrove Jack's Belgian Ale
1 x Mangrove Jack's Munich Lager
1 x 200g Cracked Amber Grain – steeped
1 x 12g Hallertau Finishing Hops – steeped
1 x 10g Mangrove Jack's Belgian Tripel Yeast
Method
- Heat Mangrove Jacks tins in hot water for 10 mins to loosen contents
- Boil 1.7L of water in kettle
- Steep 12g of Hallertau Finishing Hops in 250ml of boiled water for 10 mins
- Steep 200g Cracked Amber Grain in 1.5L water for 15 mins
- Add both Mangrove Jacks tin contents to fermenter & stir thoroughly to dissolve
- Pour 250ml of boiled water into beer tin & stir to dissolve remaining contents, then add to fermenter
- Strain steeped Cracked Amber Grain liquid into fermenter & rinse into fermenter with 250mls boiled water (do not add grain to fermenter)
- Add water to fermenter to 22.5L & test temperature – make sure it is between 16-24 degrees before pitching yeast
- Take initial hydrometer reading
- Add Hallertau Finishing Hops bag and steeped water to fermenter
- Pitch 10g Mangrove Jacks Belgian Tripel yeast
