Bowral Bavarian
Ingredients:
1 x Mangrove Jack’s Bavarian Wheat
1 x Morgan’s Caramalt
12g Cluster Hop – Steeped
200g rolled Wheat
1 x Premium Wheat Beer Yeast
Method:
- Heat Mangrove Jacks Bavarian Wheat tin and Morgan’s Caramalt in hot water for 10 minutes to loosen contents
- Steep 200g Rolled Wheat in 1.5L water for 15 minutes
- Add 1.5L of boiled water to fermenter, then add Caramalt
- Add Mangrove Jacks Bavarian Wheat tin contents to fermenter and stir thoroughly to dissolve
- Pour 250ml of boiled water into beer tin and stir to dissolve remaining contents, then add to fermenter
- Strain steeped Rolled Wheat liquid into fermenter and rinse into fermenter with 250mls boiled water (do not add Rolled Wheat to fermenter)
- Add water to fermenter to 22.5L and test temperature – make sure it is between 16-24 degrees before pitching yeast
- Take initial hydrometer reading
- Add Cluster Finishing Hops bag
- Pitch 15g Premium Wheat Beer Yeast
