Spent Grain Cracker Recipe
Wanting a great way to completely use your grain from your AG Brewing day? CRACKERS! Bloody Yum
Ingredients Required:
1 cup well-drained spent beer grain
1 cup plain flour
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup oil or soft butter
a little beer, if needing more moisture 😉
Pre-heat the oven to 180c & Line 2 trays with non-stick baking paper.
Squeeze any excess liquid from the beer grain. You can also blitz your grain if you prefer a less coarse mixture
Mix flour, salt and oil with the beer grain – depending how dry the grain is, you may need to add a little beer to obtain the desired texture
Give the dough a quick knead, then roll on a lightly floured surface as thinly as you can manage.
Cut into rectangles, tringles, any shape you like for a cracker
Move your crackers to your baking trays, bake for 15/20 mins,
or until crisp, making sure you don’t overcook them!
TIPS:
Refrigerate some of your spent grain, if you plan to bake within a couple of days.
